HighTech Connect China

On the 21st of September 2018, the first Chinese Investment Summit was held during the HighTechXL week at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. The event brought more than 200 attendees to Eindhoven. They included about 60 investors, from which 40 representing Chinese firms or investment funds, as well as 20 Dutch high-tech scale-ups. The goal of this event: build an enduring network in order to generate cross-border ‘Smart Money’ investment from China to the Brabant and Dutch high-tech ecosystem.

The keynote speakers during this day included Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, Special Envoy for StartupDelta, Guosheng Zhang, Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in The Hague and Lang Yi, Huawei’s COO in the Netherlands.

In addition, 20 Dutch scale-ups had the opportunity to pitch their companies in front of potential investors. This way, investors and scale-ups got to know one another.

Great timing
China is becoming less export-oriented and more focused on accommodating its own middle-class customers, whom we see across Europe in every major business center. The Chinese investors are serious about supporting the right teams with the right concepts and technology, especially high-tech.
