Rhenus invests in a sustainable future in Brabant

Generating around 4,000,000 kWh a year, the Rhenus Contract Logistics distribution center is officially Netherlands’ largest single rooftop solar power plant.

Generating around 4,000,000 kWh a year, the Rhenus Contract Logistics distribution center is officially Netherlands’ largest single rooftop solar power plant. The company installed 15,318 photovoltaic panels on the roof of its distribution center in Eindhoven. Rhenus opened its second distribution center in Eindhoven in early 2017. Additionally, the company has started to build another distribution center in Tilburg.

Rhenus strives to develop the most sustainable distribution centers possible to meet our objectives in the context of sustainable development. Factors considered include energy generation, choosing the right type of materials and ecological conditions. Besides relying on daylight, all our facilities are fitted with LED lighting. Rhenus also uses an information and communication platform to respond proactively to energy and maintenance needs.
