The Brabant Development Agency (BOM) and the Brainport Eindhoven Region announced that they won six awards as part of the rankings for Foreign Direct Investments (fDI) Strategy Awards 2016. This provides further endorsement of their unique foreign investment position combining support, prime location, R&D facilities and talent as well as cutting-edge collaboration, to offer companies the best platform upon which to set-up or expand their European operations.

Brabant was judged as Europe’s best region for its FDI Strategy on Incentives and Innovation Promotion. These categories looked at the level of support provided to companies setting up or carrying out product development in the region. BOM’s support on facilities, recruitment, expats and finance – tailored to the specific requirements of each organization – was selected as the most effective in Europe. With its highly sophisticated eco-systems and collaborative forums, comprising 20,000 researchers and world-renowned institutes, the region also received a Tech & Knowledge award.

Its on-going strategy to stimulate growth opportunities through open innovation and cutting-edge collaboration won the Brainport Eindhoven Region three fDi Best European City Awards. By clustering world leading companies on highly specialized campuses, including the High Tech Campus and the Automotive Campus amongst others, the region was singled out as providing a unique approach to R&D support. Its high tech community and talent for fostering disruptive technologies through extensive start-up programs like High Tech XL and Bright Move, have firmly established the region as a ‘dream-come-true’ location for start-ups in Europe.
