From 25 to 28 June 2017, our colleague Ben Engel and partners attend the IFT 2017, the International Food Technologists conference in Las Vegas. For the second year in a row the Invest in Holland partners in AgriFood have a booth (#2250 & # 2253) at the conference, in the shared Holland Pavilion with Dutch AgriFood companies, knowledge institutes and the Food Valley network organization.

From a Food perspective, the IFT is the conference in the USA to attend if you want to meet state-of-the-art AgriFood companies with a global outlook.

The IFT Food expo is one of the largest food conferences in the world. 20,000 attendees are expected; 100 side-conferences are organized and 1,200 companies from al over the world are exhibiting their products and expertise. This year, IFT 2017 has an ambitious theme: ‘Be a part of something big. When you think of all that needs to be done, that must be done – to provide each and every person on the planet with a safe, nutritious and sustainable food supply – we think as one. Or at least we should. Because the power of many acting as one is game-changing. Let’s change the game.

Ben Engel, who represents BOM and Noord-Brabant in Las Vegas, is enthusiastic about the Invest in Holland team and the upcoming trip:

“From a Food perspective, the IFT is the conference in the USA to attend if you want to meet state-of-the-art AgriFood companies with a global outlook. Which is our target group from a foreign direct investment perspective. Last year we attended IFT in Chicago with the Invest in Holland alliance for the first time; we felt it was a worthwhile investment in time and effort and we decided to repeat our presence both in 2017 and 2018.

Our goal is to inform global AgriFood companies that the Netherlands and Brabant are perfect locations for market entrance into the European Union and / or technological cooperation and that we would all be glad to help them set-up shop in our country.

We share the Holland Pavilion with the following companies and institutes from the Netherlands: NIZO, OMVE, Worlée, Royal Buisman, AkzoNobel and Scelta Mushrooms.

Our Invest in Holland team consists of NFIA HQ The Hague, BOM, NV NOM, Oost NV, the Netherlands Embassy in Washington and the Holland Innovation Network San Francisco.

During the conference we will be meeting as many relevant companies as possible and join workshops and seminars to spread the word about Dutch strengths in the AgriFood sector. All in all we expect to make a good impression and take an attractive number of prospects & leads back home for follow-up!”

If you have any questions or suggestions about or during the conference: send Ben Engel an email at [email protected] . There is a 9 hours’ time difference between Amsterdam and Las Vegas of course, but he will try to respond and / or act upon it!
