Designing the future is an international objective of the Dutch Design Week. With the DDW, the event wants to become the major international hub where the future is shown, explored and discussed. The event is a perfect example of what we stand for in the Brabant region: doing things together. Our region is about innovation and co-creating solutions to the key societal challenges of today and tomorrow.
That’s why the Brabant Development Agency (BOM), Corporate Venturing Network (CVN), Eindhoven University of Technology and TU/e innovation Space partnered up to organize a great and inspiring event at the Dutch Design Week. The day started off with inspiring pitches from the TU/e student teams, giving regional partners, (foreign) companies and network partners the opportunity to learn more about their latest developments and a chance to support these student teams. The teams challenge themselves to tackle big societal problems with cutting-edge technology spanning themes like mobility, urban environment, energy, biosensing, AI and robotics.
We ended the day with a guided tour at the Drivers of Change exhibit. This exposition shows the most important designs that demonstrate the power of technology in response to the challenges of tomorrow. Subjects like an artificial womb in development, a smart way to discover breast cancer, which avenues photonics open for us and why it is important to investigate the climate at the South Pole on the spot were covered.
A great inspiration and a true must see > visit DDW!
