Successful Brabant Jiangsu Mission

From October 27 to November 3, 2019, the Hightech and Agrifood Brabant Jiangsu mission took place. We look back at a successful mission where the relationship between Brabant and Jiangsu is once again strengthened and intensified.

19 November 2019

The Brabant Development Agency (BOM) organised matchmaking, seminars, networking opportunities and visits to companies, science parcs and government in this mission for both trade and foreign investments purposes. About 25 companies and knowledge institutes joined our trade mission with a program focused on doing business in and with China and to get in contact with potential customers and partners. In our foreign investments activities, BOM organised several company visits and hosted the Brabant Conference in Nanjing to present the hightech and agritech ecosystem for a future cooperation in trade, investments and innovation. This mission was organised in collaboration with the Province of Brabant.

One of the companies that was visited was HAND Enterprise Solutions Company, a Shanghai-based global IT solutions provider. HAND is working to deliver IT strategy, ERP solution implementations and global technical support, serving its clients across the globe since 1996. The company’s 10,000 professional IT consultants worldwide support over 3,000 customers across 40 different industries, present in more than 80 countries on 6 continents. HAND will start recruiting 15-20 people for engineering and marketing & sales shortly, and will likely employ some 30 people within three years.

I am looking back with a big smile on this mission. It was an intensive week with visits to Shanghai, Kunshan, Suzhou and Nanjing. I hope the Brabant companies will benefit from all experiences and new contacts in doing business with and in China. I also hope to see more Chinese companies finding their way to Europe via Brabant. I believe this mission is an excellent example of how a friendship relation between 2 provinces can be a good base for building new friendships in government, business, innovation, education and culture.
